VHP delegation meet President, demands law for Ayodhya issue

VHP Delegation Meets PresidentNew Delhi, May 30: A high level delegation of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) along with senior saints called on the President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday and reiterated their demand for a parliamentary legislation to facilitate solution to Ramjanmabhumi issue.

The delegation attracted the attention of the President towards the High Court verdict which said that disputed site was the birth place of Lord Ram based on the historical and geographical evidences. Babur had destroyed this temple and constructed the disputed structure there.

The VHP delegation urged the President to make the Muslim community accept their commitment to hand over the land on their own in case of the court decision in their favor.

The VHP delegation included VHP Patron Ashok Singhal, International Secretary Champar Rai, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, President Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, Coimbatore, Swami Satyamitranand Giri, former Shankaracharya, Bharatmata Mandir, Haridwar, Jagadguru Madhwacharya Swami Vishwesh Teerth Maharaj, Udupi, Mahant Nrityagopal Das Maharaj, Executive President Shriram Janmabhumo Nyas, Mahamandleshwar Swami Vishweswaranand Maharaj, Sanyas Nyas, Mumbai, Swami Chinmayanand, former Union MInsiter, Swami Parmatmanandji Maharaj, General Secretary Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, Rajkot.

VHP delegation requested the President to direct the Centre to abide by its agreement on acting positively in favour of Hindu society in case the result in this case is positive.

They said that Ramjanmabhumi issue could be resolved through a legislation of the parliament with  a provision that no new mosque or Islamic centre or Islamic memorial will be constructed within the spiritual and cultural boundary of Ayodhya.

VHP leaders also intimated the President about cow protection, Ganga protection, women’s security, fall in Hindu population, and taking over the temples and other such issues that were discussed during the Dharmasansad at Prayag held on the occasion of Kumbh Mela. They also sought action on these issues from the President.
