Azamgarh, May 8: Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Thursday accused the Election Commission of acting in partisan manner.

Addressing a massive rally in Azamgarh, in Uttar Pradesh the BJP leader said, “I say it with full responsibility, the Election Commission is partisan.”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has continued his offensive against the Election Commission, accusing it of being biased.

The Gujarat Chief Minister further accused the poll panel of not doing its “job” during the last three phases of polling in Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

“I had given it a warning on April 24 but during the last three phases in Bengal, Bihar and UP, it has not done its job,” said Modi.

Chants of ‘Murdabad’ for the poll panel were heard after the attack of Modi on the poll panel.

It may be recalled that the EC had denied permission to BJP for holding Narendra Modi’s rally in Beniabagh in Varanasi in addition to address a meeting of select intellectuals and participate in “Ganga Aarti”.

The BJP has gone overboard in accusing the EC and the District Returning Officer of behaving in the most partisan manner in this case. The BJP staged a massive protest dharna at Varanasi and Delhi in front of the office of the EC to vent out its anger.
