Sushma meets governor of Colorado John Hickenlooperis; agrees to intensify economic partnership

New Delhi, October 10: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday met with the Governor of Colorado John Hickenlooper in New Delhi and held productive discussions on the matters of mutual interests. Notably, the Governor of US State of Colorado John Hickenlooperis is on his maiden visit to India for seven days.

 

The two leaders agreed to identify, match the mutual strength and needs of both the countries with a view to further intensifying the economic partnership. Both the leaders also held very warm and productive discussions over several matters.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “EAM @SushmaSwaraj had very warm and productive discussions with Governor of Colorado @hickforco who is on his maiden visit to India.” “They agreed to identify & match the mutual strengths &needs of Colorado & India with a view to further intensifying the economic partnership,” he added.



Interestingly, the Governor of Colorado John Hickenlooper arrived in India on Sunday for a seven-day trade mission, his first visit to the country. He is leading a delegation of 12 business and academic leaders on a trip organized by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

The visit includes diplomatic meetings, a dinner at the U.S. ambassador’s house and cultural activities. The companies on the meeting list include Cisco, Wipro and Infosys. The Colorado delegation includes Sam Bailey from the Metro Denver Economic Development Council, Cody Cornell from Swimlane, Alex Kreilein from Secure Net, Milan Dalal from the lobbying firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and Chancellor Venkat Reddy from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
