Rail traffic interrupted in eastern Bihar due to heavy rain

Patna, October 11: Due to the heavy rains from Tuesday night, the Rail traffic in Bihar has been interrupted in the eastern parts of the state. Kajra Station’s rail track has been flooded with the rainwater which led to the rail services disrupt in Bihar. 

Precautionary measures were taken by stopping the rail traffic on Bhagalpur -Kiul section but by afternoon the traffic was restored. Muzaffarpur- Bhagalpur Janseva Express, Howrah -Gaya Express, Jamalpur -Kiul passenger trains have stopped at stations before Kajra rail station. The movements of the train from Patna to Howrah and Bhagalpur have been disrupted.

Bihar was affected with the heavy rainfalls in August this year which led to a flood in the state. The floods affected 2,371 panchayats, 19 districts of North Bihar causing the death of 514 people. Around 1.71 crore people are hit by the floods. Over 8.5 lakh people have lost their homes, with Araria district alone accounting for 2.2 lakh homeless people. 2017Flood has broken 9-Year Record of Deaths in Bihar.
