Bihar to provide reservation for 'Divyangs' in govt jobs

Patna, October 11: Persons with disabilities will get special benefits in Bihar as the state government has approved reservations for them in government jobs and educational institutions. In presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the cabinet nodded yes for the approval during a meeting.

 

The provision has been brought with in accordance with the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Along with reservation, for empowering ‘Divyangjan’ cabinet has also approved the establishment of a state advisory board. Secretaries of various departments will serve as members of the board. The board will have representatives from the districts also.

The cabinet has decided many other reforms like paying allowances to state government employees as per revised rates. HRA would now be 24 percent of the basic salary for employees stationed in Delhi, 16 percent for those at Patna, eight percent for those in district headquarters, six percent for those in other towns and four percent for those posted in rural areas.
