Cape Town, October 13: The future of South African President Jacob Zuma is again on the question as the Supreme Court of Appeal in the country has ruled that he must face corruption charges. All the charges date back to 2009. President Zuma appealed to the South Africa’s Supreme Court to drop corruption charges against him.

"It is difficult to understand why the present regime at the NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) considered that the decision to terminate the prosecution could be defended," Judge Leach said.

This judgment has opened the way to the reinstatement of 783 charges of corruption and fraud against him. It questions the validity of Zuma’s win as he fought election keeping aside the charges against him. "The ANC has full confidence in our judiciary and the options it offers to all aggrieved parties," the ruling party said after the announcement by the appeals court.

National Prosecuting Authority now has to run cases against him which wanted to drop 800 corruption charges against Zuma. In last year, a local high court also said NPA’S decision as irrational. Zuma appealed against that judgment.
