CBI visit to Kolkata Mayor’s office takes Narada Sting investigation one step ahead

Kolkata, October 14: Narada sting case is getting new turns every day with the ongoing investigations. As Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chattopadhaya is allegedly involved in the scam a CBI team on Friday went to Mayor Office for investigation. The team intended to carry out the spot investigation.

The team of four entered the office Friday morning. Then the Mayor was not present in the office, he entered 10-15 minutes after. As it is a very sensational issue, the staffs of Kolkata Municipal Corporation tried to avoid going there during the investigation. Investigators clicked photos of mayor’s chamber, antechamber, and entry-exit to his chamber.

The video footage of Narada showed someone resembling Mayor was receiving cash from someone. CBI took photographs to compare those with the video footage. If the footages turn out as similar it will act as a great proof against the accused. Mayor later told that CBI did not question him, only took the photographs of office.

After Diwali, many other TMC leaders including lawmakers Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Prasun Banerjee, and Sougata Roy will be questioned by ED. Along with CBI, ED is also investigating the case.
