Coal India employees to get higher one time advance before Diwali

New Delhi, October 14: Coal India employees get another happy news within one week of wage hike as Coal minister Piyush Goyal announced higher one-time advance. He announced the advance payment would be Rs. 51,000 instead of Rs. 40,000. They will get it before Diwali.

The trade unions hailed the minister’s great initiative for the happiness of Coal India employees. The employees of CIL were praised by the minister for their diligence and perseverance for achieving 10.1% growth in coal production for September 2017 and 13% growth in October 2017 so far. He also mentioned the growth in coal dispatch to power sector moved into high orbit with 21% in September 2017 and around 22% till 12th October.

Recently Coal India and trade union reached an agreement was reached to give 20% wage hike. Initially, Trade Union representatives were demanding for 50% wage hike. But considering the country’s position, CIL’s benefit and the financial position they agreed on 20% increase in the wage. The main thrust of the wage negotiation was to make available ‘reliable and affordable power to all’ and social security for workers.
