South African Govt keen to tie up with Odisha especially for urban development projects

Bhubaneswar, October 14: South Africa’s High Commissioner to India Fracne Murole on his three-day visit to Odisha; met and had an interaction with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials on various development projects. Fracne Morule appreciated various welfare projects of the BMC and also advised on issues related to tax collection, timely service delivery and development of public utility. 

Fracne Morule further directed that South Africa is going to tie up with the State Government for some important projects and shall extend its help. One of the South Africa’s leading cites will be announced as Sister City with Bhubaneswar.

 

As per the bilateral relationship of India and South Africa, the latter has the friendly rights to take up development projects in any State of India. With advantage of this bilateral relationship, the High Commissioner of SA has emphasized on exchange of learning between Bhubaneswar and South African cities. A presentation was given by City Engineer of BMC and Deputy Commissioner Srimant Misra on Smart City projects and other development initiatives of BMC. He has also requested for an exchange of manpower to his city and Bhubaneswar as well.

South African government also showed the keen interest in sharing learning programmes with the Bhubaneswar city by tying up with the state government for some important projects, especially on the urban development front.
