Death toll rises to 40 and hundreds went missing in California Wildfires

California, October 16: In last one week the California Wildfires took forty lives and hundreds of people are still missing. The Wildfire destroyed the area and also devastated many homes. California's Governor Jerry Brown said it is one of the greatest tragedies, the state had ever faced. 

Around 16 blazes are remaining on which more than ten thousand firefighters are tackling the fire. 3000 people were evacuated from the city of Santa Rosa which is the worst affected area in the Sonoma wine region on Saturday. Still, the winds up to 70kms per hour extended the fire to new areas and towns.

 

Talking about the California Wildfires Governor Jerry Brown said that the city that the devastation is just unbelievable. It is a horror that no one could have imagined. It is the most lethal outbreak of wildfires in the state's history. More than 100,000 people have been displaced and whole neighborhoods have been reduced to ash.

The reason behind the wildfire which started on Sunday night is still not clear, but the assumptions are made that the power lines blown over by the strong winds could be the reason behind the disaster.
