At least 191 urban areas of Rajasthan to be benefitted with Annapurna Rasoi Yojna

Ajmer, October 16: With an aim to provide food at the cheap rates to the needy and poor, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Sunday opened up the expansion of Annapurna Rasoi Yojna in all the 191 urban areas of the state and flagged of off 50 Annapurna vans.

 

Annapurna Rasoi scheme will provide quality food to the needy of all categories at affordable rates was being implemented in the selected cities and government has now expanded it in all the urban areas. By December 13, this scheme will be implemented in all the urban areas of the state.

At least five hundred smart kitchen vans have been already arranged for the scheme. Under this Annapurna Rasoi scheme, people will get breakfast for five rupees and lunch and dinner for 8 rupees under the scheme. The food menu contains 50 dishes, which will change every day. The state government will spend 400 crores on this scheme.

Earlier, in the month of August this year, the state government monitoring the desire of the people, the government has decided to provide more nutritious food with 30-40 percent hike in quantity. Foods under this scheme are also available for free at government hospital across the state.

CM Raje, in December 2016, launched this subsidized meal scheme. The tagline for the scheme, named Annapurna Rasoi Yojana is, “Sabke Liye Bhojan, Sabke Liye Sammaan (food for all, respect for all)”. With breakfast for Rs 5 and lunch and dinner for Rs 8 each, the scheme aims to benefit students, working women, senior citizens and labourers.
