Somalis request funding for capital’s only free ambulance service

Mogadishu, October 16: The devastating blast in Somali capital has left the city in an emergency situation claiming 300 lives. Now the emergency free ambulance service, Aamin Ambulance needs support to continue service. In Somalia, this ambulance service always gives fast medical aid during bomb blast-related emergencies.

Aamin Ambulance works in partnership with the Somali Federal Government, UNOCHA, UNDP, and WHO. They have the largest fleet of ambulances in the country offering quick emergencies. Since the emergency, the volunteers have worked tirelessly. Many Somalis in diaspora are contributing to the cause of Aamin Ambulance. 38,213 Swedish Krona were raised for better communications, medical supplies, vehicles and human resource in this emergency situation.

A bomb blast in Somalia capital has taken away more than lives while 300 others are injured. This truck blast can be called as a deadliest one in Somalia. Several countries including Turkey and Kenya already offered to send medical aid.

The truck bomb targeted important street of the capital. Key government ministries, including foreign affairs, were nearby from the area of the attack. The local government thinks it as an attack from the al-Shabab group through the terrorist group has not made any comment yet.
