Happy Diwali: Festival of Lights unites whole world as U.S, Sydney, Canada celebrate Diwali enthusiastically

New Delhi, October 18: Happy Diwali! Festival of Lights is being celebrated across the globe today. Hindu festival has shed its magical lights all over the world that people abroad are celebrating Diwali with the high enthusiasm. Australia, United States are some the best examples who celebrated Diwali today. 

For the fourth consecutive year, Sydney’s Opera House was lit with lights to celebrate Diwali. Multicultural NSW Advisory Board Chairperson and Indian community leader Dr Hari Harinath said the lighting of the Opera House sails sent a strong message to the world. "It is very enormous. We know Indians are celebrating Diwali in Sydney near the Opera House and under the Harbour Bridge,” Dr Harinath said.

 

"It shows the enormity of the task which the government of New South Wales is doing to maintain NSW as the best multicultural state, not only in Australia but all over the world. We will be ushering the world into Diwali from here."

 

Also US President Donald Trump celebrated the Diwali festival by lighting lamp and extended warm wishes to the people of India. President Trump said that "As we do celebrate Diwali so, we especially remember the People of India, the home of the Hindu faith, who have built the world's largest democracy." Trump said he greatly valued his "very strong relationship" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

Also Canada celebrated Diwali, where Prime Minister Justin Trudeau donning Indian attire perfectly lighted the Diya and extended his Diwali wishes to the Indian Diaspora. Back in last month Zulu King also celebrated the festival of lights.
