Telecom Ministry announces revised call rates for armed forces

New Delhi, Oct 18: On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Union Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha announced that Central government has decided to reduce the tariff for security personnel.



Terming as the Diwali gift for soldiers the minister announced that with the revised rates soldiers will have to pay Rs 1 per call instead of Rs 5 with Digital Satellite Phone Terminals. According to previous structure, soldiers had to bare charge of Rs. 500 at the rate of Rs 5 per call.
