Rajasthan govt gives Diwali bonanza to state employees, pensioners; implements Seventh Pay Commission

Jaipur, October 18: State employees of Rajasthan got a plasant surprise when Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje celebrated the 'Dhan Teras' in real terms by announcing implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission giving immense joy for the thousands of families in her state.

Notably, Rajasthan government has implemented the recommendations of the seventh pay commission, a decision that will benefit over 12 lakh employees and pensioners. Now all the state government employees will get the revised salary from the month of October.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje announced that state employees will receive their hiked salaries as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission from October. “I announced to implement 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations while presenting the 2017-18 budget. I am glad that this is being implemented by October,” CM Vasundhara Raje said in a statement.


However, making the very important announcement, the Chief Minister also said the government considers its employees the backbone for governance and has been sensitive towards their welfare. Earlier, in the month of February this year, the government had appointed a three-member committee to study and implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for the state.


Recently, Tamil Nadu government also approved the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for its employees. The state government announced a 20 percent hike in salaries of its employees with minimum pay fixed at Rs 15, 700 under the 7th Pay Commission.


Interestingly, the central government gave a nod to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC on pay hike and allowances on June 28 last year, raising the minimum pay from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 per month and fitment factor to 2.57 times. The 7th Pay Commission had recommended a 14.27 percent hike in basic pay which is the lowest in 70 years.
