Las Vegas, October 2: Mass shooting at a country music festival at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas has claimed the lives of twenty innocent citizens while 24 others were wounded of which 12 are critically injured. However, one of the suspected shooters was also gunned down by police.

 

Notably, at least twenty were killed and 24 others injured in a mass shooting at a country music festival at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday midnight. Police have confirmed of eliminating one suspect shooter and said there might be other suspects still at-large during the press conference.

Hundreds of people were gathered to witness 91 country music festival. The shooting took place at the end of a performance by Jason Aldean. Witnesses said they heard hundreds of shots fired in rapid succession, believed to be from an automatic weapon. The shooting went on for about more than 30 seconds before the music stopped, and another burst was heard later.

As soon as the incident took place, many ambulances rushed to the site and the 15 freeway of Las Vegas was shut down. According to the hospital sources, the death toll may rise as of 24 injured, 12 are in critical condition.


Video posted on social media showed a country artist mid-song at the open-air venue when bursts of automatic gunfire rang out in rapid succession. Dozens of people dropped to the ground, screaming, while others ran, some in pairs or in groups with their arms linked.


Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman tweeted a brief statement: "Pray for Las Vegas. Thank you to all our first responders out there now." Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the mass shooting if linked with any kind of terrorist attack. However, none of the terrorist organization claimed the attack till now.
