New Delhi, October 2: Housing ministry felicitated FB Group ‘My Delhi Keep It Clean’ with Swacchata Award for voluntary citizen action on Monday. Along with KRIBHCO a fertilizer cooperative, 20 individuals and agencies in seven categories were also felicitated on the occasion of Swacch Bharat Mission (urban).

 

For compost marketing KRIBHCO gets an award; two institutions from Ambikapur chosen for honors Agencies from Gurugram, Mysuru, Coimbatore, Pune among 20 has been honored, Sikkim Monastery also felicitated for Zero waste generation.

For marketing the 22,768 tons of compost which is the highest quantity during 2016-17, KRIBHCO has been chosen for the Companies category. In the Self-Help Group category, Delhi based citizen group ‘My Delhi Keep It Clean’ gets the award for promoting voluntary efforts to clean public places effectively using FaceBook.

For exemplary decentralized waste management initiative through waste segregation, Richmond Park, Gurugram, located in DLF Phase-IV, has been awarded in the RWAs category. RWA Federation of Mysuru for Zero-waste effluent management system, Roseland Housing Society, Pune for waste segregation initiative, ‘No Food Waste’ initiative of Coimbatore for Innovative Practices category for the end-to-end cycle to manage and reduce food waste is been awarded.

In the category of religious institutions for being a Zero-waste institution, Pemayangste Monastery, Gyalshing, Sikkim has been felicitated and for Self-Help Group category for women empowerment and livelihood generation by converting garbage into wealth Swacch Ambikapur Sahakari Samiti has been chosen while Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Ambikar gets the award in the Schools and Colleges category.
