The six GJM leaders, including Mr. Gurung’s wife Asha Gurung and party general secretary Roshan Giri have to surrender at least on 23rd November as per the order. The order was issued on the basis of a prayer made by the Criminal Investigation Department of the West Bengal police.

If the leaders don’t surrender Court may seize their property. Already properties of another leader Arun Ghising have been seized as he did not surrender as he did not surrender within given time limit. The resident of Mirik is a leader of the Central Committee of Morcha.

The long conflict has made the movement less popular among common mass. Gurung who has lost the ground is now trying to soften his tone. Regarding the murder of young SI, he blamed west Bengal government for staging an encounter to defame him.
