PM Modi gives invaluable gift to Gujarat; inaugurates ferry service between Ghogha, Dahej

Vadodara, October 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the projects worth Rs 2000 crore in Vadodara including ferry service between Ghogha and Dahej in the Gulf of Cambay, the Vadodara City Command Control Centre, the Waghodiya Regional Water Supply Scheme and the New Head Office Building of the Bank of Baroda.


Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said the ferry service between Ghogha and Dahej in the Gulf of Cambay was his "invaluable gift to India" and claimed that even for South-East Asia, this was the first project of its size. "This programme may be for a ferry between Ghogha and Dahej, but it is of vital importance for the entire nation," he said.



Prime Minister Modi further said that the scale of development works being launched in Vadodara today is unprecedented. The Prime Minister added that the Government is clear about its priority being development, and resources being used for the well-being of the citizens.



The Prime Minister said that since he was a child, he had been hearing about a ferry service from Ghogha to Dahej. He further said that the Government is now focused on the all-round development and the ferry has been made operational today. The Prime Minister said that as in previous years, "Run For Unity," will be organized to mark the Jayanti of Sardar Patel on October 31st. He urged people to take part in this enthusiastically.



PM Modi also slammed Congress on this occasion and said when he was serving as the Chief Minister of the state, he faced hostility from the then Central Government. Earlier, in the day, PM Modi also handed over keys of houses to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban, as well as Rural). He laid the Foundation Stones of several infrastructure and development projects, including an integrated transport hub, regional water supply schemes, housing projects, and a flyover.



PM Modi further laid the foundation stone for the capacity expansion of the Mundra-Delhi petroleum product pipeline, and a greenfield marketing terminal project of HPCL, at Vadodara. Interestingly, PM Modi has made multiple visits to Gujarat and inaugurated various infrastructural projects in Rajkot, his hometown Vadnagar, Gandhinagar and Bharuch.
