Telangana welcomes India’s biggest Kakatiya Mega Textile Park; Inked several MoUs

Warangal, October 23: Telangana government inked many MoUs with eight other textile companies to expand their units in other districts of the state. These units are likely to invest Rs 3,080 Crore for the expansion. Also, the Foundation stone was laid for the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park which witnessed many people. 

Addressing the foundation stone, Chief Minister KT Rama Rao said that the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park would become India’s biggest textile park and invited migrant weavers of Telangana to return to their home State as Telangana would soon carve out a niche for itself on the textile map of the country. He also appealed by saying “I appeal to the weavers who migrated to Surat, Bhiwandi, Solapur and other textile towns in other States to come back to Warangal as “we are going to have a textile park which would be bigger than the Azam Jahi Mills which was closed down.”

 

The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park’s foundation stone was laid on Sunday where the state government inked many M0Us with 14 private companies, getting investments to tune of Rs 3,020 Crore. Two institutes- textile training college of PSG College, Tamil Nadu and National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad - also inked MoU for setting up their centres in the textile park.

Speaking on the occasion, Handloom Minister KT Rama Rao said Kakatiya Mega Textiles Park will become one of the biggest apparel parks in the country and Warangal will become another financial capital of Telangana as part of decentralization process. It would provide over 1 lakh direct and indirect employment,” he said.
