Jaitley announces major initiatives for public sector banks and highways

New Delhi, Oct 24: Terming India as the world's fastest-growing economy Finance Minister Arun Jaitley mentioned that with strong economic fundamentals Indian economy is on right track. Speaking to the media Jaitley informed that range of discussions were held on the state of the economy where Prime Minister Modi also shared his inputs in this regard.


The Minister also announced the fund of Rs. 2.11 lakh crore for public sector banks in order to fine-tune the lending process. On the other hand, the government has approved the infrastructure development project where 83,677 km of highways will be constructed within the span of five years.
According to Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa, the mega infra project with the whopping budget of 7 lakh crore would create 14 crore jobs in coming days.
