Seoul, October 24: As North Korea showed stubborn attitude to solve the crisis, US, Japan, and South Korea already said that the countries would remain prepared for any situation. As per the plan, the alley started two-day missile tracking drill on Tuesday. Though US has been emphasizing on a diplomatic solution to the issue, the US and its allies want to take preventive measure for any missile or nuclear threats from North Korea.

The South Korean military announced the drill in an official statement. The exercises which have already begun will be held in waters off the coasts of South Korea and Japan. The drill comes in the line with the results of the 48th Security Consultative Meeting that South Korea and the U.S. held in October of last year. This drill will involve the three countries’ warships detecting and tracking a simulated target and sharing related information.

“(The) threat posed by North Korea has grown to the unprecedented, critical and imminent level…Therefore, we have to take calibrated and different responses to meet with that level of threat,” Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera said.
