Kabul, October 25: As per reports, 13 terrorists loyal to the Islamic State (IS) and 10 Taliban fighters have been killed as infighting between the rival groups continued in a northern Afghan province.

The clashes took place after Taliban began a house-to-house search in several villages of the district to find IS terrorists, which led to heavy firing between both sides. However, neither Taliban nor IS has made comments on the issue.

According to Governor for Qush Tepa district Aminullah, the infighting was still underway in the district situated in the northern Jawzjan province, Xinhua news agency reported.

Earlier on Sunday, at least 40 Taliban militants from the warring sides have been killed in clashes between the two sides in the Khifaan region of Shindand district in western Herat province, bordering with Iran, according to Jailani Farhad, the spokesperson for Herat’s governor.
