Hubballi, Oct 25: Clarifying on the raging controversy of Tipu Jayanti, senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar said that the principal opposition party had no objections to the Tipu Jayanti celebrations by non-governmental organizations.
Speaking to the media, the former Chief Minister mentioned that state-sponsored celebrations of Tipu Jayanti would be an inappropriate move. Earlier a photograph of Jagadish Shettar dressed as Tipu Sultan has gone viral on the social media.
When inquired about the snap Shettar, the Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly stated that the photograph was from an award function of the BJP’s minority morcha where organizers fated Shettar with headgears and swords.
