NIA files charge sheet against Zakir Naik

Mumbai, Oct. 26: In a major development, National Investigative Agency has filed charge sheet against the controversial head of Islamic Research Foundation Zakir Naik. The Islamic scholar is under the scanner for hate speeches and allegedly inciting youngsters for terror activities has been booked under the section 10 UA (P) Act and Sections 120B, 153A, 295A, 298 and 505(2) of the IPC.
The 51-year-old director of Islamic Research Foundation is also facing the charges of terror funding and money-laundering. Islamic Research Foundation helmed by Naik has already been declared an unlawful association by the Union Home Ministry. On April 21, the NIA Special Court issued a non-bailable warrant against Naik and later his passport was canceled under the provisions of the Passport Act, 1967.
