Moscow, October 26: While Russia is putting high effort to eliminate IS strongholds form Syria, US consultancy Soufan Center published in a report that nearly 3,500 Russian citizens fight for Islamic State terrorists in Syria. Russia's presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said kremlin doubts the authenticity of such report.

In a report, US consultancy Soufan Center said Russia had become the main sources of foreign armed force for the Islamic State. It claimed that 3,417 militants of Russian descent were fighting for the Islamic State.

In defense of Kremlin’s doubt, he said Kremlin does not know the data and source of data authors of the report used. "The Kremlin rather tends to doubt the authenticity of that claim," presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told.

Russia’s main purpose behind the operation in Syria was to protect its security. Hence anyone involved with IS or were at some point got tagged as criminals and were being eliminated. Hence kremlin expressed doubt for the mentioned report openly.
