Ensure prosperity and well-being of every citizen: PM Modi to Officer Trainees

Mussoorie, Oct 27: Describing element of anonymity as the biggest strength in the field of civil services, Prime Minister said that civil servants are capable of bridging the gap between Government and the people. He compared the civil services with the fourth lion of the Ashoka Emblem which remains invisible, yet makes its presence felt at all times. Addressing around 360 Officer Trainees of the 92nd Foundation Course at LBSNAA, PM Modi asserted that the main the objective of the Civil Services is to ensure the prosperity and well-being of every citizen.
 
 

Stressing upon the need of team spirit and collective efforts the Prime Minister pointed that problem of silos, and lack of team spirit among civil servants can be effectively handled during these training days. Commenting on the successful implementation of any policy Modi emphasized on the need of active public participation. He also urged officers to engage more field interactions to get a first-hand experience of ground reality.

 

On this occasion, Trainee Officer pitched ideas on various policy issues such as housing, education, integrated transport systems, malnutrition, solid waste management, skill development, digital transactions, Ek Bharat - Shreshtha Bharat, and New India – 2022 and Swachh Bharat.

 

Appreciating the brainstorming activity of young officers Modi asked officials to engage in-depth study for the inputs given by the Trainee Officer. He further suggested that various their observations and feedback should be shared with the OTs before the end of the Foundation Course.
