LeT terrorist Farhan Ahmed Ali, main accused of Godhra riots arrested in Moradabad

Moradabad, October 27: The Anti- Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) jointly got the breakthrough in the Godhra case on Thursday late night Moradabad. The Main accused of Godhra Blast Farhan Ahmed Ali along with one more person has been arrested with several fake documents and also fake passports were recovered from them. The investigation of the case is carried out by the police and the agencies.

 

While investigating both accused, the ATS and IB team got the information that Farhan Ahmed is a resident of Siddharthnagar of Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that he is an active member of Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was living in Ekta Vihar and Moralpura in Barbaran in Moradabad.

According to the local media, after Godhra carnage in 2002, Farhan came to Gujarat from Kuwait and had spent nearly 15 days and was trying to do something big anti-national activities. When IB got his information Farhan got away to Delhi. At that time Delhi's Special Cell arrested him from Nizamuddin where Four kilos of explosives, two detonators, a Chinese pistol and 15 cartridges were recovered from him.

The 2002 Gujarat riots was a three-day period of inter-communal violence in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The reason of these riots was the 2002 Godhra train burning. Officially 790 Muslims and 254 Hindus were dead in the riots while more than 2500 people were injured.
