Bengaluru, Oct 27: Following the directions of the Supreme Court, Central Bureau of Investigation today filed an FIR against the Bengaluru Development Minister K J George in the case related to the death of senior Cop M K Ganapathy. Two senior officials Pranob Mohanty and Ashit Mohan will face the interrogations along with Minister. Within the time span of three months the apex agency will have to submit the status report of the investigation to the Supreme Court.

MK Ganapathy was found dead in the Kodagu district in July last year. Earlier CID had closed the case citing the reason of insufficient evidence against alleged involvement of former home ministers and two officials. Later Supreme Court took the cognizance of the plea from Ganapathy’s relatives, observing the need of detailed reinvestigation.

Launching a scorching attack on Karnataka government, BJP asked Minister K J George to put his papers following the FIR. Speaking to the media state BJP in-charge B S Yeddyurappa demanded the sacking of George for a free and fair investigation.
