Agriculture Ministry receives dividend of 12.03 Cr from NSC for 2016-17

New Delhi, October 27: The supreme level of Government Company in manufacture and marketing seeds, National Seed Corporation (NSC) paid a highest ever dividend of 12.03 Cr to the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers welfare Radha Mohan Singh on Wednesday. This dividend was paid for the financial year 2016-17




 

During last three years 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 NSC has paid 4.12 Cr, 8.12 Cr and 11.46 Cr respectively to the ministry. For 2016-17 it paid 12.03 Cr which is 30 percent of the effective Profit After Tax (PAT)

 

Due to better performance in domestic sales and exports and lowering costs has lead the company to bag a net profit of Rs 51.80 Cr and a revenue of Rs 882.82 Cr. These financial achievements were made by making all efforts in optimum utilization of resources.Of the total seeds, production of new varieties, which were released in last five years, was 38 per cent in 2016-17

NSC Chairman presented the cheque to the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday. On this occasion Dr. S.K. Pattanayak, Secretary, and Dr. B. Rajender, Joint Secretary (Seeds), Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India were also present.
