Catalonia declared Independent after the rise of constitutional crisis with Spain

Madrid, October 28: The new regional elections have been called on after dissolved Catalonia's parliament due to the rise of constitutional crisis which led the separatists to vote for independence. The Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont and his executive were also removed by the Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy after an emergency cabinet meeting.

 

After Senate gave the extensive powers to the Prime Minister Rajoy’s government moved for imposing direct rule so that Catalonia's breaking away from Spain should be revoked. The regional elections will take place on December 21. It is an effort to make the condition to be normal after the vote in the Catalan parliament crashed Spain into the unfamiliar situation. To declare Catalonia a republic in the form of an independent and sovereign state the voting for the declaration of Catalonia was 70 to 10 in the 135-member parliament by the regional lawmakers of Catalan.

 

The allies of Madrid in the European Union and the United States rallied for Prime Minister Rajoy. The voice was raised by them over the support of united Spain and also the constitutional crisis which was developed in the Spain recently. On one hand where United Nations asked for the solution of the Independence of Catalonia from Spain within the framework of Spanish constitution and on the other hand, the notion of Catalan independence was rejected by the Germany, France, and Britain.

 

The Semi-autonomous region Catalonia’s capital is Barcelona with the population of 75 lakh people. It accounts for 6.3% of Spain's territory. While 16% of Spain's population is in Catalonia and it generates 22% of Spain's GDP.
