Airstrikes from Russian forces killed over 300 IS militants in Syria

DAMASCUS, October 3: From the last two days over 300 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on the eastern bank of the Euphrates in Syria by Russian airstrikes and more than 200 were injured.

 

According to Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, Just outside Deir el-Zour, this airstrike killed more than 300 IS fighters and left more than 200 wounded.

The Russian airstrike on Syria has destroyed three command posts, nine key localities, eight tanks, three artillery units, 17 SUVs with installed large-caliber weapons, and four ammunition depots.

 

The airstrike resulted in killing seven field commanders at various levels including the Abu Islam Al Kazaki who was the coordinator of IS assaults units in the Euphrates valley and he was native of Kazakhstan.

About 40 militants from the North Caucasus, as well as a terrorist mobile sniper group were destroyed. And also the center for assembly and training of foreign mercenaries from IS was destroyed in the airstrike by the Russian forces.

From last two years with the entry of Russia in 90% of the country is liberated from terrorists which are a result of 30,000 sorties+92,000 strikes. Russia has been playing an important role in Syria since 2015. Russia supports Syrian military to remove the rebels from the country. Russia’s military said Syrian armed forces supported by the Russian Air Force have regained control of the country. It also added that Russian warplanes had destroyed over 96,000 terrorist targets in the course of the two-year campaign.

Since a long Russia and US are actively participating in Syrian civil war. Other than main agendas, now the main target of both the nation is to remove terrorists from the country. Hence Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov had stressed a need for coordinated action by Russian and US military to deal a final blow to terrorists in Syria on 24 September.
