Strategic Dialogue between India-UAE satisfies anticipated outcome: M.J Akbar

Abu Dhabi, October 30: MoS for External affairs M.J.Akbar paid an official visit to the UAE for the second round of India- UAE strategic Dialogue from October 28-29 in Abu Dhabi. Akbar and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of UAE Anwar Gargash, led their respective delegations in the strategic dialogue. India and the UAE held the first round of strategic dialogue on January 20 in New Delhi.


 
 

India enjoys a versatile relationship with UAE, anchored on regular high-level visits and extensive people-to-people contacts visit of PM Narendra modi to UAE in August 2015, visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in February 2016 and subsequently as the Chief Guest at the Republic Day celebrations during January 2017 has paved a way for further concrete relations between the two nations.

 
 
 

This second round of strategic dialogue covered the entire gamut of bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest. A series of high-level engagements elevated India-UAE relationship to a "comprehensive strategic partnership"

In a statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, M.j.Akbar said “the dialogue is a very important element in the architecture of India's growing relationship with United Arab Emirates”. "This visit provided a useful opportunity to further cement our mutually beneficial bilateral ties with the UAE” he added.

 

As India is the largest trading partner of UAE, official discussion during the dialogue resulted a fruitful outcome for future trade. Meanwhile, UAE has also welcomed India’s participation as Guest of Honour at the World Government Summit to be held in February, 2018 in Dubai. Both the sides agreed to hold the 3rd round of Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi on mutually convenient dates.
