Patna, October 31: Bihar board has decided to come up with new question pattern for board exams. The change will be undertaken for both matriculation (Class 10) and intermediate (Class 12). As per new planned pattern, objective questions will great same important as subjective ones that means the questions will be more objective oriented.

Bihar School Examination Board(BSEB) chairman Anand Kishor said, "We have decided to change the examination pattern for Classes 10 and 12 from 2018. All theory papers will have 50 percent objective marks. There will also be short questions of two marks each."

In recent times Bihar board experienced poor results in board examination. The highest percentage and pass percentage both fell down. Last year pass percentage in 10th was 50.12 while 12th had only 35.25 %. Hence target of this new pattern is to improve pass percentage as well as increase highest percentage so that intelligent students can compete with other board students in higher studies.

“With this pattern, we expect that highest score could cross 90% resulting in good cutoffs in higher studies,” BSEB chairman said. The new pattern will introduce 50 percent objective questions in all papers from 2018 examinations. OMR sheets will be provided for objective questions.
