FIFA to feature Indian football giant East Bengal club in its weekly show

Kolkata, October 31: The century-old football club East Bengal has always attracted international limelight for various records. Kolkata, the host of recent FIFA U-17 final is the home ground of East Bengal. Since the successful hosting, some Football clubs of FIF has attracted the attention of FIFA officials. FIFA is going to make a documentary on this 97 years old club for its own channel.

The documentary will be featured on FIFA weekly Television show. Before this, FIFA made a documentary on another Indian club Shillong Lajong. They shot a video on Kolkata giants East Bengal on the 29th of October. The shooting team was there for two hours. The video will feature all the players from the 'East Bengal Football School of Excellence'. As from earlier reports, the documentary is expected to cover the evolutionary history of the club, famous footballers and interview of club officials.

“East Bengal is the biggest football club and we want to focus on why it is important. There are lots of funds, lots of people, we heard about the derby game. We want to show the world what the place is about, many have heard about it locally and we want to give a global flavor, ” Paul Budimir, Producer for Pitch International, the production house of FIFA show said.

The players, supporters all are very happy at this moment. Football is very close to Kolkata people’s heart. Now they have got another feather to flaunt. Along with that, it is a great boost for Indian football too as the entire world will watch the country’s love for football and one of its biggest clubs.
