Deadline for filing GSTR-2 extended to November 30

New Delhi, October 31: The last date of filing GSTR-2 of July has been extended to November 30 which will facilitate businesses and all taxpayers. Earlier, the last date was October 31. GSTR-2 should be matched with GSTR-1. GSTR-2 is purchase return while GSTR-1 is the sales return.

The last date of filing GSTR-3 for July has also been extended by the Finance Ministry to 11th December. Earlier, the last date was 10th November regarding this the notification will be issued soon to facilitate about 30.81 lakh taxpayers for filing GSTR-2 for the month of July 2017.


Earlier, the deadline to claim the credit of transitional stock in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been extended by the government by a month. The people owning the business got the claiming deadline till November 30. The credit taxes which are paid before the launch of GST in July can be claimed by businesses and file TRAN-1.
