Rajyavardhan Rathore announced National School, College games; young talent in focus

New Delhi, October 4: Sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore has announced the launch of the National School and College game on Wednesday to utilize the young talent of the country. The youths will be selected according to their talent from every corner of the country.

 

Addressing an event of the Indian football team for the U-17 World Cup he said that the youth of this country will have to be provided platforms to show their talent.

 

The government will launch the Khelo India National School games by December 2017 while in January 2018 Khelo India National college games will be launched. Top 1000 students from the Khelo India School games and college games will get the sponsorship of five lakh yearly for eight years, the minister said. He further added that every year 1000 more children will be added.

 

While addressing the event of the Indian football team for the U-17 World Cup the minister also motivated the U-17 Football players of Indian team who were presented in the event as the first game of the world will be played on Friday.

 

On 26th September, Rathore had inaugurated a national workshop on ‘sports for all’. Talking about the sports system he said that a massive overhaul of the entire sporting system is underway with the Khelo India initiative of the government as per the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
