Ahmadabad, Oct 9: Taking a legal recourse against the article published by the online portal “The wire” Jay Shah, son of BJP President Amit Shah has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the editor & owner of media outlet ‘The Wire’.
The Ahmedabad High Court will take up the matter on 11 Oct. The legal action was initiated by the Ahmadabad based entrepreneur against an article ‘The Golden Touch of Jay Amit Shah’ penned by Rohini Singh. The controversial piece was making rounds in the social media which eventually compelled Shah to sue the office bearers of the wire.
Responding to the development, The Wire’s Founding Editor Siddharth Varadarajan said that his outlet won't be intimidated by Modi govt's attack on media freedom.
