Kolkata, October 9: States of eastern India are about to receive heavy rainfall and due to a deep depression. The depression over Gangetic West Bengal has moved west-northwestwards with a speed of about 15 kmph in past 03 hours. In the earlier part of the day, it intensified into a deep depression. The center is very close to Kolkata.
Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would prevail along & off north Odisha and West Bengal coasts during next 24 hours. Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would prevail over Gangetic West Bengal and 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph very likely over adjoining areas of Odisha & Jharkhand during next 24 hours.
The coasts off Odisha and West Bengal are going to experience very turmoil condition in the sea. Hence Fishermen over there have been advised to not venture into sea during next 24 hours.
