Sofia, October 9: Indian shuttler and Commonwealth Games bronze medalist on Sunday made a strong comeback from severe injury and bagged the men’s singles title at the Bulgarian International Future Series tournament which was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Notably, Gurusaidutt registered a dominant win over Muhammed Ali Kurt by 21-17, 21-16 in a final match that lasted for only 35 minutes. Muhammed Ali Kurt was not able to stand in front of Gurusaidutt’s attack and lost the match in straight sets.

After winning the title, Gurusaidutt said, "I am feeling good, though it is a small tournament but coming back after a year was not so easy." "I wasn't getting entry anywhere. My rank was 900 above and this is the only place where I could get entry," he added.

"I was totally out of badminton or any kind of training from August 2016 until April 2017. Before I underwent surgery, the doctor and physios tried a lot to avoid the surgery but then in the end surgery was the only option,” He said. Interestingly, Gurusaidutt suffered the ankle injury during the US Open in July last year and was completely out from the game. He has subsequent surgery to get through the injury.
