Nagpur, Oct 9: The Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) has demanded immediate action against the office-bearers of Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh (MMPS) for allegedly allowing a “Naxal Program” on October 13.

According to a release from LRO, on October 13, 2017, thE Anuradha Ghandy Memorial Lecture is arranged at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh Auditorium. Anuradha Ghandy was the central committee member of the banned Maoists apex body and wife of a dreaded Naxalite leader Kobad Ghandy. The LRO said that Maoists political wing is also banned in India.

Therefore, providing venue for such a notorious anti-India terror group was a serious offence and can invite punitive action under stringent Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) and MCOCA, the LRO said,

The Legal Rights Observatory has demanded immediate cancellation of program scheduled at MMPS. If Patrakar Sangh remained adamant in providing venue for the program of group responsible for killing hundreds of security personnel and thousands of civilians then, LRO will take appropriate legal action against Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh office-bearers under all possible IPC clauses.

The LRO will also seek action against Maharashtra Home Secretory for letting such program happen in a broad day light, the release said.
