Royal treat for eyes: Watch the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical epic ‘Padmavati’

Mumbai, October 9: The most awaited ‘Padmavati’- The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film’s trailer was launched today. The masterful piece displaying the ‘royalty’ and ‘elegance’- serves a royal treat to eyes. Grand tribute to the ‘Rajput’, Starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are just into their characters. What a visual delight! 

Ranveer Singh portraying the character of Sultan Alauddin Khilji who is lust driven for Rani Padmini which is played by Deepika Padukone. While Shahid Kapoor is essaying that character of the husband of Rani Padmini named as Rawal Ratan Singh. The trailer of Bhansali’s latest historical epic was released today at 13.03pm: a supposed reference to 1303 AD when Khilji conquered Chittor.

 

The plot is based on Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s epic poem Padmavat, the film features Padukone as the fictional queen Padmini of Chittor. Shahid Kapoor stars as her husband Rawal Ratan Singh while Ranveer Singh plays the antagonist, whose lust for Padmini leads to war and destruction. Jim Sarbh plays Khilji’s scheming advisor. The film is scheduled to be released on December 1.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, during the shooting, the sets of the film were vandalised on a couple of occasions by a group that believed that the filmmaker was distorting history. But the makers of the film clarified that they intended to narrate history as it is and not deviate from it.
