Jammu and Kashmir police arrests six OGWs for facilitating ex-filtration; busts LeT terror module

Srinagar, November 1: Intense effort from security forces continues in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to curb terrorism. Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday busted a network of Lashkar-e-Toiba terror outfit in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district by arresting six of its over-ground workers.

 

Notably, police arrested two youth namely Danish Ghulam Lone and Suhail Ahmad Bhat from Manigah Hyhama area near Line of Control at in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district along with four over ground workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e-Toiba terror outfit who were facilitating their ex-filtration from Line of Control.

The SSP of Jammu and Kashmir in a press conference said that during investigation the two youths including Danish Ghulam Lone and Suhail Ahmad Bhat revealed that they were motivated by Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Adnan who is operating in Pulwama/Awantipora for joining the terrorist ranks and ex-filtration to Pakistan to obtain arms training. “They further disclosed that Adnan had also asked them to visit the Central Jail Srinagar and meet one Ishaq Paul who hails from Shopian, a terrorist under detention,” the SSP added.


The SSP further said, “On the instructions of Adnan, Danish Ghulam Lone and Suhail Ahmad Bhat visited the Central Jail Srinagar and met Ishaq Paul and Ghulam Nabi Mughal who are also behind the bar. “After returning from Central Jail Srinagar they sent their photographs and other details to the OGWs network in Kupwara which was activated by the Pakistani handlers.

“On their disclosure, 4 over ground workers namely Doulat Ali Mughal, Liyaqat Ali Khan, Ghulam Nabi Mughal residents of Manigah Kupwara and Haroon Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Amrohie Karnah were also arrested,” the SSP concluded.

Earlier on October 12, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Waseem Shah was killed along with his close aide in an encounter. Shah, 23, also known as ‘Abu Osama Bhai’ was killed at Litter area in Pulwama, a place considered to be a safe haven for terrorists.

Interestingly, curbing terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is the topmost agenda of Indian security forces. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 175 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of only 10 months.
