Countdown of 2018 Winter Olympic begins with the land of Olympic flame in South Korea

PeyongChang, October 1: When only 100 days are left for 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games or 2018 Winter Olympic, the Olympic flame reached South Korea on Tuesday. During 2018 games the flame will burn. The ancient home of Olympic Games Greece handed over the flame to organizers from the host country of 2018 games, South Korea. The flame was handed in the first host stadium of modern games, marble games.

South Korean sports minister Do Jong-hwan and former South Korea professional figure skater Kim Yuna carried the flame off the flight in a special lantern. The flame will tour nine provinces and eight major cities in South Korea in a 100-day through a 253-mile torch relay. The President of the Country Moon-Jae in urged residents to use the opportunity of games to bring back peace in the region. 
 
“We are ready to welcome the world to PyeonChang,” Games chief Lee Hee-beom said. “Pyeongchang 2018 will be Olympic Games of peace and harmony, ” he added.

The Olympic Winter Games will be held for 17 days from 9 to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, South Korea. PyeongChang was selected as the host city of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games after receiving a majority vote. The Olympic Winter Games will be held in Korea for the first time in 30 years after the Seoul Olympic Games in 1988. PyeongChang will be the stage for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and most snow sports.
