Bangalore, Nov 1: Accusing Siddaramaiah led Congress government for not following the due procedure for coal purchases, senior BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje said that state government did not call any tender in order to benefit the private player.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a mega rally of BJP, the Karnataka BJP general secretary stated that Congress government was not serious about the important power projects like Yermarus Thermal Power Station and Ballari Thermal Power Station even after sufficient coal supply.

Commenting on the coal policy framework of incumbent government Karandlaje suggested that state should cancel agreements with those industrial houses for using imported coal. Recalling her stint as Energy Minister during BJP government under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa the Udupi-Chikmagalur MP narrated that she had turned down the power purchase agreement with Jindal power for using imported coal for power production.
