Leander Paes and Purav Raja clinched Knoxville Challenger men's doubles title

Nashville, November 13: India’s tennis star Leander Paes and his Indian partner Purav Raja clinched the Knoxville Challenger men's doubles title at Tennessee in the United States on Sunday. The Indian duos defeated the pair of American-Australian James Cerretani and John Patrick Smith. 

In the final of the men's doubles ATP challenger, Top-seeded Indians beat the American-Australian yoke-mate by 7-6, 7-6 to lift the title at the indoor hard court of Good friend Tennis Center.

India duo on Saturday defeated third seeds Ruan Roelofse of South Africa and Joe Salisbury of Britain in the doubles semifinals by 7-6(4), 6-3. While the star Indian pair on Thursday swiftly stormed into the quarter-finals by defeating American team of Kevin King and Bradley Klahn by 6-2, 6-4.

This year in August, Paes, and Raja won their first ever title in partnership. Pairing with Canadian Adil Shamasdin and American Scott Lipsky, Leander Paes won three Challenger level titles this season. Purav Raja with Divij Sharan had won Bordeaux Challenger before joining Leander Paes he had also made the final of the Chennai Open.
