Security forces eliminated two terrorists in Handwara district of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, November 13: Security forces on Monday evening eliminated two terrorists after a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Zachaldara village of Handwara district. The arms and ammunition along with the dead body of slain terrorists are recovered from the encounter site. Unfortunately, one policeman was martyred during the encounter.

 

Notably, security forces gunned down two terrorists identified as Ashiq of Palhalan and Toib of Sopore near Sultanpora bridge of Zachaldara village in Handwara district of North Kashmir. The gunfight between security forces and terrorist erupted after they opened fire at police party. However, one policeman was martyred during the mishap.

Immediately, security forces cordoned off the area and eliminated two terrorists. The arms and ammunition including two pistols and one grenade along with the body of slain terrorists were recovered by security forces. The combing operation is still underway and more terrorists are believed to be trapped.


Earlier, in the last week, at least three terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit were killed by the security forces after the fierce encounter took place in the Aglar Kandi region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s nephew Talha Rasheed was among the three terrorists who were killed in an encounter with the security forces.

BACKGROUND:

The Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that at least 180 terrorists are eliminated by Indian troops in a time period of only 10 months.

The slain terrorists included over a dozen top commanders including Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Abu Khalid, Abu Musaib, the nephew of Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba leader, Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi, Lashkar-Toiba Kashmir chief Abu Dujana, Hizbul Mujahideen commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, Amarnath attack mastermind and Lashkar-Toiba Kashmir chief Abu Ismail and others. There are over 220 militants active in Kashmir.
