Development of Uttarakhand appreciated by Policy Commission

Dehradun, November 14: To speed up the development works of Uttarakhand, the Policy Commission is working together said the deputy chairman of the Policy Commission, Rajiv Kumar. He appreciated the unprecedented work which is being done by the Uttarakhand government. Lauding the efforts of state government he expressed happiness over the innovative work.

 

The information about the health index and medical facilities were provided through presentation to the Commission. It was informed about the new initiative that the cardiac center in Dehradun, Almora is operated by the private sector participation. The Nephro Center operates in Dehradun and Haldwani.

In 34 hospitals Tele-radiology has been started and from 2018. NCERT textbooks are being implemented in education. Model schools have been started in 2 Primary, 1 upper primary and 2 secondary schools in all blocks. From 2018, science will be taught through English medium to standard third students.

Out of 39360 habitations, drinking facility is available in 22136 habitations and by 2022 all habitations will be covered. A 1091 km sewer line has been constructed while construction of 650 km is in progress and by 2022, 2050 km sewer line will be constructed. Out of 15745 villages, 9155 villages have been connected to the roads. 12120 villages will soon be connected, The remaining 3625 villages will be connected to the roads by 2022.

The Commission expressed happiness on the progress of the construction of the Chardham road. About rural electrification, it was informed that out of 15745 villages, 15701 villages have been electrified and the rest of the villages will be electrified by December.

Uttarakhand is the first state in the nation to provide electricity at the cheapest rate. In addition to this, the Commission was informed about the progress of agriculture, forestry, Aromatic plant, the medicinal plant. It was told that Uttarakhand is being developed as an organic state. Organic certification of 61,000-hectare area has been done. 50,026 farmers have adopted organic farming.

It was told that Uttarakhand has made a long jump in the field of industry. So far 53,487 small and medium industries have been established. This has resulted in the capital investment of 11221.13 crores, This gave 2,60,416 people employment opportunities.

Capital investment of Rs. 35,225 crores have been made through 273 big industries, which provided employment to 1,01,273 people. Implementing the reforms in the Ease of Doing Business, Uttarakhand was chosen as the Leader State at the ninth place in the country and was in first place in Himalayan states.

Under this, single window clearance has been implemented. It was informed about skill development that Uttarakhand got second place in IT and skill development in Paris. Last year, 12 thousand youths were trained in various skills schemes. Skills Council has entered into 23 areas under which 48,236 youths will be trained.
