Russia to get two new high-speed helicopter concepts soon

Moscow, November 14: Russia, the country which has always been in news for its innovations in defense sector will unveil two concepts of the high-speed helicopter in 2018. The company Russian Helicopters, which is planning for the new concepts will present it to country’s defense ministry. Then the Russian Defense Ministry will choose the better one.

"The Defense Ministry will choose [between the two options]," he added noting that "the helicopters would be able to fly at speed of 350 kilometers per hour (217 miles per hour)," CEO of Russian Helicopters, Andrey Boginsky, told. Russian Helicopters is a helicopter design and manufacturing company headquartered in Moscow. The company designs and manufactures civilian and military helicopters.

The current fastest helicopter existing there are Mi-35 m which have a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour. Hence the new one will easily outperform Mi-35.

Along with that, the company is also planning to start testing the second Ka-62 helicopter in December. The Kamov 62 is a Russian helicopter that first flew on 24 December 1998. It is used for cargo transportation, search and rescue operations, and meets all international requirements for conducting offshore operations.
