New Delhi, November 14: Today the Savlon- Indian antiseptic brand took an initiative to spread awareness about hygiene amongst kids by introducing ‘Savlon ID Guard’ on the eve of Children’s Day. Savlon launched ‘Savlon ID Guard’ under its #SavlonSwasthIndia initiative.

Savlon has placed its small sachets inside school children ID card thus making it Savlon ID Guard which aims to harness the power of design-thinking to encourage and enable hand hygiene among school children. The film talks about how difficult it is to get kids to wash their hands after meals, playing outside and how Savlon ID Guard can help eliminate this problem and should be implemented in schools across India.

Sameer Satpathy, chief executive, Personal Care Products Business said: “Cleaning hands with cleansers like a soap or handwash needs to become a routine behavioural practice amongst children. Access to a cleanser out of home, at times is a challenge and could impede efforts to encourage behavioural change. Savlon Swasth India’s unique innovation with the re-imagined ID card is designed to encourage and enable change."

Savlon ID Guards with three refill sachets are designed to take care of hand hygiene for more than a month for all children. The initiative has been piloted in 32 schools and will be rolled out in 1000 schools over the next six months.

In a statement, Savlon said that its Swasth India Mission has already been rolled out in more than 3700 schools since last year. The school programme has reached more than 1.7m children in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
